- NASDAQ
NASDAQ is short for the National Association of Securities Dealers Automatic Quotation System. This is an electronic quotation system that provides price quotations to market participants about actively traded shares. This market is electronic and is not dependent on one physical place.

- National Debt
The total outstanding debt owed by the Irish nation. At present the National Treasury Management Agency is managing this debt. It is in the region of 40 billion Euro and is divided between money owed to Irish citizens and that owed to international creditors.

- National Development Plan
A blueprint for the future social and economic development of Ireland. It has laid plans for the development of Ireland's economic and social infrastructure. It also sets out measures to develop enterprise and to satisfy education and skill requirements. There are also many measures to help Irish firms to develop and expand and to attract foreign investment.

- National Income
The total income earned by the residents of a country in one year (also called National Output or National Expenditure).
- National minimum wage
This was introduced in 1999. It means that permanent workers over 18 years of age must be paid the minimum of £4.40 per hour.
- National Pay Agreement - Sustaining Progress
Sustaining Progress was negotiated early in 2003. It is the 6th in a series of agreements between Government and the social partners dating back to 1987. The Sustaining Progress Agreement runs for a 3 year period between 2003 and 2005.

- National Pensions Reserve Fund
A new function of the National Treasury Management Agency which will part finance future public service and social welfare pension liabilities. It is a form of Government saving to meet future needs and is facilitated by the high level of budget surpluses that are currently accruing.

- Net Profit
Profit of a company after it has paid its tax liabilities. Also known as "the bottom line''.
- New Product Development
The process of generating new products. It begins with idea generation and concludes with commercialisation.

This represents a particular segment of the market for a product or service. It normally has different requirements to the rest of the market and the product or service is specially designed to meet these needs.

This is a type of organisation whose primary objective is to support an issue or matter of private interest or public concern for non-commercial purposes, without concern for monetary profit.
